It's time to start a Healthy life: your program
"The Way to Wellness"
How many times have you gone to sleep at night, swearing you'll go to the gym in the morning, and then changing your mind just eight hours later because when you get up, you don't feel like exercising?
While this can happen to the best of us, it doesn't mean you should drop the ball altogether when it comes to staying fit. What people need to realize is that staying active and eating right are critical for long-term health and wellness -- and that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The more you know about how your body responds to your lifestyle choices, the better you can customize a nutrition and exercise plan that is right for you. When you eat well, increase your level of physical activity, and exercise at the proper intensity, you are informing your body that you want to burn a substantial amount of fuel. This translates to burning fat more efficiently for energy.
In other words, proper eating habits plus exercise equals fast metabolism, which, in turn gives you more energy throughout the day and allows you to do more physical work with less effort.
The true purpose of exercise is to send a repetitive message to the body asking for improvement in metabolism, strength, aerobic capacity and overall fitness and health. Each time you exercise, your body responds by upgrading its capabilities to burn fat throughout the day and night, Exercise doesn't have to be intense to work for you, but it does need to be consistent.
I recommend engaging in regular cardiovascular exercise four times per week for 20 to 30 minutes per session, and resistance training four times per week for 20 to 25 minutes per session. This balanced approach provides a one-two punch, incorporating aerobic exercise to burn fat and deliver more oxygen, and resistance training to increase lean body mass and burn more calories around the block.
Here's a sample exercise program that may work for you:
* Warm Up -- seven to eight minutes of light aerobic activity intended to increase blood flow and lubricate and warm-up your tendons and joints.
* Resistance Training -- Train all major muscle groups. One to two sets of each exercise. Rest 45 seconds between sets.
* Aerobic Exercise -- Pick two favorite activities, they could be jogging, rowing, biking or cross-country skiing, whatever fits your lifestyle. Perform 12 to 15 minutes of the first activity and continue with 10 minutes of the second activity. Cool down during the last five minutes.
* Stretching -- Wrap up your exercise session by stretching, breathing deeply, relaxing and meditating.
When starting an exercise program, it is important to have realistic expectations. Depending on your initial fitness level, you should expect the following changes early on.
* From one to eight weeks -- Feel better and have more energy.
* From two to six months -- Lose size and inches while becoming leaner. Clothes begin to fit more loosely. You are gaining muscle and losing fat.
* After six months -- Start losing weight quite rapidly.
Once you make the commitment to exercise several times a week, don't stop there. You should also change your diet and/or eating habits,' says Zwiefel. Counting calories or calculating grams and percentages for certain nutrients is impractical. Instead, I suggest these easy-to-follow guidelines:
* Eat several small meals (optimally four) and a couple of small snacks throughout the day
* Make sure every meal is balanced -- incorporate palm-sized proteins like lean meats, fish, egg whites and dairy products, fist-sized portions of complex carbohydrates like whole-wheat bread and pasta, wild rice, multigrain cereal and potatoes, and fist-sized portions of vegetable and fruits
* Limit your fat intake to only what's necessary for adequate flavor
* Drink at least eight 8-oz. glasses of water throughout the day
* I also recommend that you take a multi-vitamin each day to ensure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.
I suppose that's all I can think of for now. I should extend my thanks to a doctor friend of mine. Without him, I wouldn't be able to write this article, or keep my sanity.

There are illnesses that you can get from dieting and they are called eating disorders.
There are two main types and they are anorexia and bulimia. There are about 2 million people in the United States that are suffering right now from one of these eating disorders.
These illnesses are going to be more likely in girls and women than in men however there are male that are battling eating disorders as well.
Anorexia is showing up more and more in teenagers. This is true more so for girls of middle to upper class families.
Men and boys suffer from anorexia but not as often.
Anorexia is when a person will not want to eat when they need to in order to survive.
There are anorexia patients that avoid eating most of the foods that are out there but will also be more likely to follow activities like grueling physical exercises in order to make their weight come down.
Usually their weight is already below normal. You see Gaining weight is the worst fear of a person with anorexia.
The excessive weight loss that anorexics usually have will cause hormonal disturbances in women and girls and will seem to have a number of health problems that can occur.
The reason behind anorexia has not been found out yet. There are health experts that believe that biological, nutritional and psychological causes combined will lead to this disorder.
There are social and environmental causes like puberty, a death in the family or any other stress related reason could lead to this.
There is not one single treatment that will exist for anorexia at this moment. There is medications that try to treat depression that is associated with anorexia.
The psychological and family support to need to be there for the patient come of their eating disorder without fear.
Bulimia nervous is a common eating disorder where the patient is going to have a tempting urge to eat.
They will have repeated episodes of binging in a very short amount of time. The patients of bulimia are going to be very afraid of obesity and this will lead them to do self-induced vomiting in order to get the food out of their body.
Patients will also try laxatives, diuretics, strict fasting, and dieting of any kind.
They will also want to do hard physical exercises for their body to prevent the weight gain. These are all be hard on the heart and kidney functions.
There are plenty of the young women seeking heath advice or treatment that suffer from bulimia.
However Like anorexia, the cause of this disorder is not known. so there is no one effective treatment for the disorder.
Belive this! anorexia and bulimia are dangerous and life threatening to anyone. If you are or know someone that is suffering from either one, this is not a good diet thing, not good for health or life and you need to find help immediately.

Intense running can lead to stress injuries of the lower extremities in those who are unprepared for it. Pyramid Workouts
You can apply the pyramid method to any exercise. The object is gradually to build towards a target, then ease down to the level at the workout start. For instance, pull_ups, sit_ups, and push_ups can be alternated as in previous workouts. But with the pyramid workout, choose a numerical goal and build up to it. In the sample table below, each number counts as a set. Work your way up and down the pyramid. The sample goal below is five sets.
Stretch PT
Since Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are devoted to PT, dedicate at least 20 minutes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday to stretching. Always stretch for at least 15 minutes before beginning any workout. Just stretching the previously worked muscles will make you more flexible and less likely to get injured.
Start your stretch at the top of your body and work downward. Stretch every muscle in your body from neck to calves, concentrating on your thighs, hamstrings, chest, back, and shoulders.
Stretch to tightness, not to pain. Hold the stretch for 10_15 seconds. DO NOT BOUNCE.

Any serious fitness center gym member will tell you no gym bag should be without the essential water bottle. After all, preventing dehydration is a core rule for sustaining a productive and fun working out. Drink water, lots of it, to replenish the loss during exercise.
According to recent research, though, it's possible that exercisers are endangering their health by drinking too much water, which can be as bad as drinking too little. USA Track and Field has introduced new guidelines regarding water consumption. They're urging anybody who jogs, cycles, or power walks on a regular basis to limit the amount of water they drink, being careful not to over_hydrate. According to Dr. David Martin, a Georgia State University exercise physiologist, a lot of people who are taking up running for the first time are being told they can't drink too much water, to be sure to carry water to drink, and not to worry about the heat. Says Dr. Martin, "That's wrong, wrong, wrong."
British physician Dr. Dan Tunstall_Pedoe agrees that drinking water at every opportunity can cause serious problems like hyponatraemia or water intoxication. This leads to diluted sodium and electrolytes in the blood, which in turn causes dizziness and respiratory distress. Some people can collapse as a result. Not only is it untrue that you can't drink enough when you work out, it is fairly easy to overdo the water.
This doesn't advocate a ban on fluid replacement during workouts. Heavy activity can mean a loss of almost a quart of body fluid through sweat, more in hot weather. Lost body fluid should be replaced gradually, by taking sips of water, not gulps. Drinking about a quarter of a pint of water for every hour of exercise won't replace everything you lose, but it will keep a more healthy fluid balance. An easy way to determine fluid balance is to weigh yourself before and after exercising. Any weight loss you see immediately is not fat, it's fluid, and you need to put it back.

Doesn't Know How to Help People Lose Weight.
you go to your doctor and ask him how you should lose
weight, you'll get that same old medically bull answer, exercise and eat less.
And you know deep down his advice/pro opinion probably won't help you lose weight.

add a program of light weight training, with progressively heavier weights
Diet: we have meal plans but please, please no fad diet, just very careful monitor
your intake.
